Three Day Weekend!

I love my class, but I have to be honest, I am so happy it's a three day weekend!  It's nice to be able to catch up and rejuvenate occasionally.

So, I'll keep it short today.  I have two center organizational ideas to share.

The first is a shoe tying center.  This is an incredible idea I saw on Pinterest.  The colorful shoes were found at The Good Will and the two shoe-tying books were also found at thrift stores.  My students enjoy practicing at this center AND several of my students are eager to help those learning!  I have an awesome group of students this year.  My first graders are very helpful and supportive of each other.

I found another awesome tool at Walmart in their back-to-school section.  It's a 24 pocket wall chart.  The first grade team purchased premade math centers that fit perfectly inside the pockets.

Now, it's back to catching up.  We read a Curious George story in our reader this coming week and I need to stop by the public library to pick up additional stories by the author that I've reserved.  Have a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend!
